Game Asset and Animation Revisions
Proposed Future Direction for Architect · Not a Separate App
Proposed Addition · Not Built- The Problem
- Redrawing an animation can quietly break its pivots, timing, hitboxes, attachments, or gameplay events on the way from the art tool to the game. A preview can look right and still play wrong.
- What It Should Do
- Show what changed between versions of a move, keep or flag the timing and gameplay data that was already approved, and test the result in the real game runtime before it is accepted.
- Architect Today
- Animation, Collision, and Pixels workspaces; throw authoring; menu audio and saved settings in packaged games; and scenes that compile and run in the native Webs engine for testing.
- Proposed Addition
- Revision tracking for art after its gameplay data is approved: compare versions, flag affected timing and gameplay data, and require a runtime test before acceptance. None of this is built yet.
