Cookies and Analytics
The site itself sets no cookies. The network that delivers it, Cloudflare, sets one cookie, named __cf_bm, to help tell people from bots. It expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, and Cloudflare’s cookie documentation says it is not used to track visitors from site to site. Visits are counted with GoatCounter, which, by its own description, works without cookies and without persistently storing personal data: its privacy policy says it doesn’t store IP addresses or the full User-Agent header, and keeps them in memory for up to 8 hours to recognize repeat visits. It records which pages are viewed, the referring site or campaign, and general browser, operating-system, language, screen-width and location information (location is worked out from the IP address, for example the country). The site also counts a few actions, such as starting or sending the inquiry form, never with form text, names or email addresses.
Stored in Your Browser
While you fill in the inquiry form, your answers are kept in your browser’s session storage so they survive a reload or a failed send. They stay on your device until you send them and are cleared when the tab closes. The Pause Motion setting is remembered in your browser’s local storage.
Inquiries
The inquiry form sends your answers through FormSubmit, a form-delivery service, which emails them to dp@phreelabs.com. FormSubmit retains form submissions for 30 days, according to its documentation. If JavaScript is off, the form opens FormSubmit’s own page, which may ask you to complete a Google reCAPTCHA and is covered by FormSubmit’s privacy policy. If a send fails, you can send the same answers from your own email app instead; they then go straight to dp@phreelabs.com. Inquiries and messages to dp@phreelabs.com are used only to reply to you and discuss your project.
Inquiries are kept only as long as needed to discuss and deliver your project and to keep basic business records. Inquiries that don’t lead to a project are deleted within 12 months.
Hosting
The site is a set of static pages. Like any web host, its hosting provider processes technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver them; GoatCounter and FormSubmit likewise receive your IP address when your browser contacts them.
Your Requests
Email dp@phreelabs.com to see, correct, or delete what you sent. Requests are answered within 30 days. FormSubmit’s own copy is kept for its 30-day retention period.
